Student verification fails for all of my students (2 differents schools)

Hello Figma Support Team !

My name is Simon, and I teach UX-UI Design for Higher Ed students in Angers, Fr in two different schools : “MyDigitalSchool Angers” and “EEGP Angers (Verrieres en Anjou)”.

Since Figma changed their verification process and partnered up with SheerID, every new students I meet is unable to verifiy his status to get the Education Plan.

We tried a lot of combination through the process, but it keeps on failing :

  • Every student has a valid CVEC number
  • Both schools are in the Figma Database
  • At EEGP Angers, students don’t have school issued email anymore. They have to use their personnal email address (perhaps this is the reason why ??)
  • For the students at MyDigitalSchool Angers, we tried selecting different options in the “School” select menu : “MyDigitalSchool Angers”, “MyDigitalSchool”… And even “ESPL-Ecole Supérieure des Pays de Loire”, which is the name of the campus we’re part of.
  • By the way, “ESPL” appears twice in the database, because it’s both a Campus AND the name of a school within the campus...

Students tried reaching out SheerID explaining their issues, but non of them succeeded in their request…

I’m feeling a bit desperate, as my students really need this Education plan to learn UI Design, and collaborate efficiently.

Thanks so much for sharing all of this detail — I can see how much effort you and your students have already put into this, and how important it is for your classes to get access set up smoothly.

From what you’ve described, it’s possible that the absence of a school-issued email address could be contributing to the verification issues.

To get this reviewed more closely, could you please reach out to education@figma.com so our Education team can investigate further? When you do, it would be really helpful to include:

  • A brief description of the issue 

  • The student emails used for verification

  • Any screenshots you have, along with a brief timeline of what you’ve already tried and the responses you received from SheerID.

Once you’ve contacted the team, feel free to share your ticket number here — I’m happy to help escalate and flag this for visibility.
