Student verification approved but still not activated on my account

I am experiencing an issue with my student verification status on my Figma account.

My student verification was approved through SheerID on January 28, 2026, under my university email (@terpmail.umd.edu). SheerID confirmed that my request is approved and still active, and that I am not eligible to reapply within 335 days because the verification remains valid.

However, my Figma account continues to request verification as if it has not been activated.

I first contacted education@figma.com last month regarding this issue and did not receive a response. I followed up again last week  and still have not received any update or resolution.

I have already:

  • Cleared my browser cache

  • Tried different browsers

  • Used incognito/private mode

  • Tried a different device

At this point, it appears the SheerID approval has not synced properly with my Figma account. I would greatly appreciate assistance reviewing my account and activating the approved student status.

Update: The Figma Education team has replied, please check your inbox when you can. The Figma Education team confirmed you successfully verified the account associated with exxx9@gmail.com, and you should now be able to upgrade that account to the Education plan. Please check you log in the right account.

For others, this usually happens when the wrong email address was verified (for example, a personal email instead of the school email). In that case, you should transfer your education status between accounts. If your status is already applied to the account linked to your education email, Figma for Education can’t move the status. Instead, please follow these instructions to move the projects or team you need into your education account.
If that doesn’t apply, please complete this form. The Figma Education team reviews requests weekly and will notify you once the change has been processed.
