Dear Figma Community,

I am having trouble verifying my student status again. My university recently changed its name, which also slightly changed the university email domain. Both the old and the new version of the email address still lead to the same inbox, so I receive emails sent to either address.

The problem is that my older Figma account, which is connected to the previous university email address, is no longer verified because the student status has expired. I still need access to the projects from that account, especially for my final semester, but I cannot re-verify the student status successfully.

I have tried several times and uploaded the required enrollment documents, including both a short and a long version of my certificate of enrollment. However, the verification keeps failing and says that the documents are not sufficient, even though similar documents had worked for verification in the past.

I have spent a lot of time trying to solve this, but it still does not work. Could someone please help me understand how I can get the student status verified again for my existing account so I can continue accessing and editing my projects?

Hey ​@julienne.ruedig, I’m really sorry you’ve been running into all of this!

A couple of things to check:

• If you haven’t already, I’d recommend reaching out to SheerID  support directly at figmasupport@sheerid.com. They handle the verification process and can review why your documents are being rejected. 
• If you’ve already contacted them and haven’t heard back within 10 days, the next step would be to contact our Education team at education@figma.com

Our Education team can take a closer look at your account and work with SheerID to better understand what’s going on and help unblock you.

When you reach out, it helps to include:
• A screenshot of the verification error
• A quick summary of the steps you’ve tried
• The documents you submitted
• Any replies you’ve received from SheerID
