Student Status Verification Failed, SheerID could not help

Hello, 

I’ve tried to verify my student status through SheerID, but it does not work properly. Every time I upload something, I get an error that says:


“The document is insufficient for establishing eligibility for this offer.”

I’ve submitted the two documents that they suggested, my transcript and a tuition reciept, with my full name, the school’s name, and the date (current academic year/the current date). My school ID does not contain an expiration date, so I couldn’t do that.

I’m not sure what’s wrong; I’ve emailed SheerID support (both the support that they list on their website, as well as figmasupport@sheerid.com), and they’ve been unhelpful with a copy-and-paste message that says they can’t help me. 

Here is the email:

After a deeper look into your request, we are sorry to inform you that we are unable to verify your status at this time. Because our system could not validate the information provided—and due to the nature of our verification platform—we are not able to offer further details or manual assistance for this specific request.
 
We realize this isn’t the news you were looking for, and we truly appreciate your time and understanding regarding this final determination.

I emailed the Figma-specific email address, but they were equally unhelpful, with the same copy-and-paste email. They’ve been unhelpful with YouTube verification previously, so I have no faith that they will be able to help at all. Their support seems ineffective.

I’m using Figma for my classes, so it would be very helpful if this issue could be resolved soon. I have been unable to work on collaborative documents.

I can see you've already put in the effort here — reaching out to SheerID, submitting the requested documents, and I appreciate you sharing the context of their response.

I'm not able to access account-specific details from this forum, but here's what I'd recommend as a next step: Since you already have a case open with SheerID, please loop in the Figma for Education team directly by CC'ing education@figma.com on that existing thread. That way, they can review alongside SheerID and help move things forward from our side.

If things continue to stall after that, don't hesitate to come back here — I'm happy to take another look. Appreciate your patience. 🙏🏻
