Question

Some shared Figma files are missing from the project file browser

I'm experiencing an issue where some files shared with me are missing from my project file browser on my computer.

Here are the details:

  • All shared files are visible on my phone, but only some of them appear on my computer.

  • The missing files open normally when I access them through their direct links.

  • When I navigate to the project containing a missing file, other files are also missing from the project listing, including the file I just opened.

  • The project name is the same on both devices.

  • The issue occurs in both the Figma desktop app and the web browser.

  • I have already tried logging out and back in, uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app, clearing my browser cache, and refreshing the page. None of these steps resolved the issue.

Since I can still access the missing files through their direct links, I suspect there may be an issue with how the project file browser displays or syncs files.

Could you please investigate this issue and advise me on how to restore the missing files to my project file browser?

Thank you for your help.

Hi, @park seo hyeon. Thanks for your post, and totally understandable why this is confusing for you.

Could you click on the plan switcher on the top left side of your file browser, then select the plan which has the file or files you are looking for? I think what you’re seeing with a desktop app and browser is that the files shown are scoped to whichever plan you are selected on. Let me know if this doesn’t help, though!
