I’m experiencing the same. Keeps using the first image on my page instead of the selected social sharing image. Makes the preview look very unprofessional.

Hey All, thanks for flagging this!

Can you please confirm if you’ve tried republishing your Site after upon updating your social sharing image?

When you need to update your social sharing image, you’ll need to republish your Site for the changes to appear on the live version.

To do this:

  1. Select the **File** icon in the left navigation bar.
  2. Select **Publish** in the left sidebar.
  3. Select **Publish** to update your site with the new social sharing image.

Again, any changes you make on the canvas will only appear on your published site after you re-publish them. More info here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/31242845959703-Publish-update-or-unpublish-a-site

Also, if the social sharing image isn’t rendering properly when your website is shared on social media, we recommend using an image that is 1200px wide by 630px tall. More info here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/31242875661591-Edit-website-settings#h_01JTH79EDQSPS32NPYBY99JE06

Lastly, can you ensure that you have a social share image set at the site level and that you do not have a social share image set at the page level?

Please try these suggestions and let us know how it goes!

I am experiencing the same issue.

I have verified:
– the site is published with the social sharing image
– the social sharing image is 1200px wide by 630px tall
– it’s saved as the social sharing image for the entire site (and I also tried at the page level)

This is super frustrating! I hope you can assist.

Thanks for reaching out.

Yes to all of the above.

The social sharing image is set at site level, in 1200px by 630px. I’ve then published my site again (multiple times)

I am facing the exact same issue.

After updating the Social sharing image to 1200 x 630px in “Images” and clicking Publish > Update, the change is not being applied. Other edits are reflected correctly after updating, but the Social sharing image alone is not being updated.

Hey All, thanks for following up and for the additional context!

I reviewed this with our Sites team. And it’s currently expected for changes to take some time to update and propagate properly across socials and search engines, so this behavior is expected right now.

After updating, please give it a couple of days to appear, and let us know, if it does eventually update. If it’s still feeling substantially longer than a few business days, please let us know.

Hey All, thanks for your patience!

Our team just pushed a fix for this bug. Be sure to refresh your tabs. Then, you will need to re-publish to see the relevant og:image and twitter:image tags on your site then buste the cache for social platforms your are sharing to in order to refresh previously shared links.

You can do this by pasting your site/app URL into the relevant platform’s tooling:

Timing on the data refresh will be up to the social platform, but please try the following and let us know if you run into any further issues.
