Slot Icon Replacement Not Reflected in Hover State

I’m using Slot feature for the icon part of our button component. Since our icons come from an external source, Slots make it easy to swap in different icons as needed.

However, when I replace the Slot icon, the button’s hover state still shows the default icon instead of the replaced one.

Is there a way to make the hover state reflect the swapped icon?
