About three weeks ago some of my PNG images suddenly appear grey in Figma, where there is semi transparency, and around the edges of illustrations. These are images I have exported correctly before. Now if they’re exported the grey shows in the exports as well. I have no clue as to why, is this a bug, some new setting I’ve missed or accidentally activated? Tearing my hear out over this, would be super grateful for help! :´D
Top: screenshot from Figma, grey splashes should be white! Bottom: for comparison, as it should be, white semi transparent splashes.

Hi @Emmy_Lincoln, thanks for reaching out and apologies for the delayed reply!
I tested this using my own images with semi transparency in Figma and they still show a transparent background, so I'd be happy to investigate the situation you're experiencing further.
Could you please try the following?
Check if the canvas background color might be affecting how your PNG appears. The canvas defaults to light-gray (#F5F5F5) in light mode or off-black (#1E1E1E) in dark mode (read more). Try toggling the background visibility using the Hide icon in the Page section of the properties panel.
If you're using the image as a fill, try re-uploading the image:
If the issue continues to persist, can you confirm if you are you using the image as a layer fill or as a direct image import? With a few more details, we can hopefully resolve this together.
i have this same issue.
when zoomed out they appear ok. when zoomed in they are super dark. also they worked fine until a few weeks ago.
zoomed outzoomed in at 75%
they also only export as darker. no matter what size i am zoomed in.
The problem is due to some change in how Figma handles colour spaces. If I convert my images to sRBG they look fine again. However I have hundreds of images already uploaded though… @djv will Figma be updated back to how colour spaces were handled previously?
