Search in variable table is not working

Thanks for flagging this! I understand you’re running into an issue with the search bar in the Variables modal.

I tested this on my side and I’m also seeing that searching for a variable name or filtering isn’t working as expected, both in Chrome and in the Figma Desktop app.

I’ll pass this along internally so our team can investigate. Once I hear more, I’ll follow up here with an update.

I have the same problem - variable search and filters don’t work.
 

It was working all right this morning, but then I received a Figma update - with the new variables modal layout, and with search field problem... Additionally, there is something that looks like an empty context menu container, for a collection that also magically appeared with the update: 

I did almost the same tests as ​@Viorel Brinzanescu, with the same result. I reported a bug, but since it went through AI/Figma bot and I haven’t received a standard email confirmation this time, I’m not confident it actually reached Support...😟

Hi! I’m also experiencing the exact same issue with the Variables panel.
The search bar doesn’t return any results at all, and this happens across all files, including completely blank ones.

I’ve already tried:

• restarting Figma (desktop + web)

• clearing cache

• logging out and back in

• disabling all libraries

• testing in multiple browsers

• creating new files

• restarting my computer

The issue still persists and the search field does nothing.

Do you have any updates on a fix or any known workaround?
