Right-click stopped working on figma canvas on ipad

Hey ​@esra çakın, welcome to Figma Forum and thanks for testing this so thoroughly before posting. The screenshots help a lot: I can see Ctrl+click opens right click menus is enabled on your end, so we can rule that out.

The fact that right-click still works in the Layers panel but not on the canvas is useful as well. I wasn't able to reproduce it on my end, so a few more details would help me narrow it down and get it in front of the right team:

1. Which iPad model and OS version are you on?
2. What type of mouse are you using with your iPad and how is it connected?
3. You mentioned testing with a new account — is this happening in every file you open?
4. Does right-click work on a FigJam canvas on that same iPad? Different editor, so it helps me understand whether this is specific to Figma Design or broader.
5. If you have access to a Mac or PC, does right-click behave normally on the canvas there?

Once I have those I'll take this to the team for a deeper dive. Thanks again for the detail so far. 🙏🏻

I have the exact same issue.

 

1. iPad M5 Pro (11 Inch)
2. Issue present with Magic Keyboard trackpad and Magic Mouse
3. Every file, its a canvas bug
4. Issue present on FigJam
5. MacOS Chrome - same account - works fine.

Thanks for weighing in and confirming, ​@connell.byrne — that's a really useful breakdown, especially FigJam being affected too with the same account working fine in Chrome on macOS. We've had a couple of other reports come in along these lines, and the team is investigating.

​@esra çakın and ​@connell.byrne, could I ask for a few more things from you both?

1. Your iPadOS version (Settings → General → About)
2. Does a two-finger tap directly on the touchscreen open the context menu on the canvas, or does that fail as well?
3. A screen recording of the issue — if you can capture the Layers panel working and the canvas not working in the same clip, that contrast is really helpful

Hi Tom, thanks for getting back to me and for looking into this.

Here are the additional details:

1. iPad model: iPad Pro 13-inch (M4)
   iPadOS: 26.5.2
2. Mouse: Piranha mouse. I also tested with a different mouse, and the exact same issue occurs, so it doesn’t appear to be mouse-specific.
3. Yes, the issue happens with newly created files and also with a newly created Figma account.
4. I tested right-click on a FigJam canvas on the same iPad, and it also does not work there.

So right-click works in the Layers panel and in other Figma menus, but it does not work on either a Figma Design canvas or a FigJam canvas.

The issue started suddenly. It was working normally before.

I’ve attached a screen recording showing the issue.

As you requested, the recording shows that right-click works normally in the Layers panel, but right-click does not open the context menu on the canvas.

I also tested two-finger tap on the canvas, but that does not open the context menu either.

My iPadOS version is 26.5.2.
