Request for Credit Review and Reimbursement Due to Unsuccessful Figma Make Generations

I recently upgraded to the Figma Pro plan, which includes a fixed allocation of monthly credits for Figma Make. Unfortunately, I have encountered what appears to be a credit usage issue on my account associated with the email address shivashanmukh2@gmail.com.

On multiple occasions, I provided clear and detailed prompts to Figma Make requesting specific modifications to my existing UI design. However, the generated output either failed to apply the requested changes, made unrelated modifications, or returned results that did not match the instructions provided. Despite these unsuccessful results, credits were deducted from my monthly allocation for each attempt.

As a result, a significant number of credits were consumed without the requested UI changes being completed successfully. This has substantially reduced the credits available for my projects and has impacted my ability to continue using Figma Make effectively within my subscription limits.

I kindly request that your team review the credit usage history on the account shivashanmukh2@gmail.com and investigate whether there was a credit allocation or credit consumption issue. If the records confirm that credits were deducted for generations that failed to perform the requested modifications, I would appreciate consideration for reimbursement or restoration of those credits.

Additionally, I would be grateful if you could clarify how credit deductions are handled when Figma Make does not successfully apply the requested changes or produces outputs that do not follow the provided prompts.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I would appreciate a review of this potential credit-related issue and look forward to your response.

Hey @shiva shanmukh, thanks for reaching out!

I understand how frustrating it must be to have your prompts not generating what you expect. A couple of things worth knowing about how Figma Make credits work:

  • Credits are consumed per prompt, based on factors like task complexity, the model used, and any context materials provided — not on whether the output matched your expectations.
  • If a prompt fully fails and no output is generated, credits aren't deducted. But when the AI produces something (even if it's not what you intended), that still counts as a completed action.

In the meantime, a couple of tips that may help reduce some of that friction going forward:

  • Break requests into smaller, single-action prompts. This makes outputs more predictable and lets you validate each step before moving forward
  • Ask it to describe what it's going to change before applying it. This can help catch misinterpretations early and save credits

That said, I saw you already have an open support ticket (#1937914). I’ve escalated your ticket on your behalf, so our support team can help review your usage in more detail..The team will review your account and be in touch as soon as they’re available.
