Rename Layers AI not working

I'm opening this ticket because the Figma AI feature for renaming layers is not working.

When I click Rename Layers, the loader appears, keeps spinning for a long time, and then nothing happens. The dialog simply closes without renaming anything.

Platform and version: macOS Tahoe 26.5.1, Figma Desktop App 126.4.13.

Account: Professional (paid).

Scope: Happens across all files.

Restart: I've tried restarting the Figma app, restarting my Mac, disabling iCloud Private Relay and Tailscale VPN. Nothing changed.

Timeline: At least 2 weeks.

Could you please look into this?

    Hey ​@Vitaliy R, thanks for reaching out with all these details! 

    What you're describing, the loader spinning and the dialog closing without renaming anything, is something we're actively looking into on our end. The issue appears to be happening at the point where the request is processed in our backend, rather than anything related to your network setup or Mac configuration. So you've already done all the right things by ruling out iCloud Private Relay and Tailscale.

    I've created ticket #1954191 for you, and someone from our team will be reaching out soon. In the meantime, it'd be really helpful if you could reply directly to the ticket with a couple of extra details:

    • Are you seeing this in the browser version of Figma Design as well, or only on the desktop app?
    • Have you had a chance to try the Figma beta app? If not, it's worth testing, you can download it from Desktop app and system requirements.
