Rename layer AI not working

I’m opening this ticket because the Figma AI feature for renaming layers is not working. The issue has been happening for at least one week. When I click on the feature, a loader appears, and after a few moments the following error message is displayed: “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

  1. Platform and version: I’m on macOS 26.5 using the Figma Desktop App version 126.3.12 but happen also on Safari and Chrome.
  2. Scope: This happen across all files.
  3. Restart: I’ve tried restarting the App, the Mac, turned off iCloud Private Relay and Tailscale VPN. Nothing changed.
  4. Timeline: at least one week.
  5. Error messages: “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

 

I also checked the inspector with cmd+option+i and noticed the following error in the console:

POST https://www.figma.com/api/cortex/design/editor_ai/rename_layers 403 (Forbidden)

 

Could you please look into this?

Figma has Network access, the network in my office allow other designers AI usage, it’s just my account.
I’ve tried also at home and nothing changed.
