Remove background no longer leaves original image in place

As of the last update, when you use the “Remove Background” tool, it deletes the original, whereas it used to just hide it. Using both versions to create a new image has been a major part of my daily workflow.

If I start my duplicating the image, and only removing the background on one layer, it combines all layers into the result.

  • Is there a way to restore the original functionality?
  • Is anyone else experiencing this, or just me?
  • Is there a workaround?

    Looks like they have brought it back, just restart figma.
