Regarding Exorbitant Charges

I’ve noticed that the charges have become increasingly excessive lately; a simple modification in Make cost me tens of US dollars. I’m wondering if there’s an issue here—this has made me extremely reluctant to continue using the software, and I’m very upset about it.!!!!!!

Hey @LLLeonyu73, thanks for reaching out!

The forum isn't the best place for us to dig into billing details, but our support team can review your account and the specific charge in full. Before I get you connected, it'd help to know a bit more about what happened:

  • What were you working on in Figma Make when the charge occurred?
  • Roughly when did the charge appear, and what amount are you seeing?

Figma Make uses AI credits for each prompt, and the amount consumed can vary quite a bit depending on the model selected, the complexity of the task, and how much context is involved - so a single action can sometimes cost more than expected. Our How AI credits work article covers this in detail, and Best practices for optimizing AI credits in Figma Make has some useful guidance on how to get the most out of your credits going forward.

Would you like me to get you connected with our support team so we can take a proper look at the charge?

First of all, thank you very much to everyone who replied.
I believe that if we can connect with a professional support team, we can resolve this issue.
The problem I’m encountering involves using "Figma Make" to design an H5 page for a cosmetics store. I want to specify the layout structure and font sizes, or apply rounded corners to specific borders—tasks that seem quite minor to me—yet I have already used up over 400 credits. To prevent the file from becoming too large, I even tried restructuring the project into smaller, separate components, but the results didn't change much, and I still burned through a huge number of credits. I am also using Codex and Claude; I realize that using superior models like Opus 4.7 (or higher) would be expensive, but for now, I am sticking with the default model.

For example, I provided a Figma design file to replace the design of a single coupon, yet an exorbitant 360 credits were actually deducted.

Hey @LLLeonyu73, thank you for sharing all of that detail, it really helps.

When you attach a Figma Design file to a Figma Make prompt, the model reads and processes that file as part of its context materials, so even if the visible change looks small, like swapping a coupon design, the model is working across the full file to complete the task. That's what the "Worked with 1 file" indicator is showing.

On top of that, as a Figma Make session builds up prompt history, the model has more context to process with each new prompt, even if the prompt itself is short. Combined with an attached file, that accumulated context is likely a big part of why usage climbed the way it did. The Best practices for optimizing AI credits in Figma Make article covers this in more detail. starting a fresh session when you no longer need old history is one of the more effective ways to keep things lean.

That said, our support team can take a proper look at your account and the specific charges. Please reach out via the Figma support hub and include the details you've shared here (the task type, the model you were using, and that screenshot) if you can. That'll help them get to the bottom of it as quickly as possible.

Thank you,

Gayani

Could you provide an email address where I can send the compiled questions and the detailed breakdown of credit usage associated with the compilation work?

Hey @LLLeonyu73, thanks for your patience.

I've gone ahead and opened a support ticket (#1990320) for you so our team can dig into the specific charges directly. You should get an email shortly- once you have it, just reply there with the details you've shared here (the task type, the model you were using, and that screenshot showing 460 credits) plus anything else that might help, like OS info or file links.

That'll give them everything they need to take a proper look at your account.

Hope this helps!
