Regarding Credit Usage

Hello,

I would like to inquire about my recent credit usage.

Previously, I typically used around 1,000 credits over approximately five days. However, after upgrading my plan, I consumed 2,000 credits in just two hours, which seems highly unusual.

Could you please help me understand:

  • How credits are calculated and consumed?
  • Why my credits were depleted so quickly?
  • Whether it is possible to review or roll back the credit usage if there was an unexpected issue?
  • Whether there are any best practices or settings to help reduce credit consumption?

I upgraded to the highest plan because I intend to continue using your service, so I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to manage my credit usage more efficiently.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hey @jjgun451, thanks for reaching out!

I can't look into account specifics here on the forum for security reasons, but I can see that you've reached out to our support team under ticket #2027264. You'll hear from our team by email with more detail on your account.

In the meantime, here's some general context on how credits work: as a Full seat on the Professional plan, you get 3,000 AI credits per month, which reset on your billing period. How quickly credits are used depends on a few factors: the complexity of your prompt, the model used, and how much context is involved (like attached files or design libraries). More complex or multi-step prompts will use more credits than simpler ones.

A couple of resources that might help:

  1. For a full breakdown of how consumption is calculated, see How AI credits work.
  2. For managing consumption going forward, you can track credit usage per prompt in Figma Make by hovering over the AI credits icon beneath each response, and you can track overall usage in your Admin tab if you have admin access.

Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime!

I have been posting in multiple places because I don't know where this issue is actually supposed to be resolved. It appears that case #2027264 is the one currently being handled.

However, no one is actually solving the problem. Everywhere I ask, I receive the same type of response: "Please refer to this documentation."

Frankly, the support experience for Figma's subscription service has been extremely disappointing and feels irresponsible. The message I keep receiving is essentially, "The customer did not use the credits efficiently, so this is not our responsibility."

If credits were consumed unexpectedly or due to an issue, is there really no way to roll back those credits? Is there no issue-tracking process available for customers? I have repeatedly been told that usage logs or detailed tracking cannot be provided due to security reasons.

So does that mean credits can simply disappear from our account, and customers have absolutely no way to verify what happened or challenge the charges?

Right now, we need this issue to be fixed immediately. We have already upgraded our subscription and paid additional money because of this problem, yet we still have no way to resolve it.

What we need is a solution—not more copy-and-paste responses directing us to documentation.
