Hello Figma Support,

I was unexpectedly charged $52 because my seat was automatically upgraded. This was not an intentional purchase, and I did not realize that editing would trigger a paid seat upgrade.

I have not intentionally used any of the paid features after the upgrade, and I would like to request a full refund for this accidental charge.

If possible, please downgrade my account to free plan and refund the $52 charge.

I have been happy using Figma and hope you can make a one-time exception.

Hey ​@titaniumon, thanks for reaching out!

I can't look into account specifics on the forum for security reasons, but I can walk you through why this likely happened.

A few things worth knowing:

  1. Seat upgrades usually happen because of your team's seat approval settings. If your admin has these set to auto-approve (or "manually approve, unless a seat is available"), editing a file that requires paid access can trigger an automatic seat upgrade without a separate confirmation step.
  2. You can check and adjust this from the Admin tab under Settings, in the Billing section, if you have admin access on your team.
  3. If you'd like to move back to a free plan, you can downgrade your seat to a free View seat from the People page in Admin, or ask your team admin to do this for you if you're not the admin.

For the charge itself, please get in touch with our support team through Support hub so the team can take a look at your account directly. That's not something I'm able to review from the forum.
