Refund for unused payment

Hello Figma Support Team,

I am writing to request an immediate refund for a charge made to my account. My email is (redacted by the moderator due to PII).

I subscribed to the collaboration sheet, but the full sheet was charged on September 20. Therefore, $35.00 was charged, but I never requested the payment. I canceled the subscription within 24 hours of the charge and did not use Figma.

Looking at the invoice, 15 more was charged under the name of 'September Full Sheet 20, billing adjustment,' but I never requested a full sheet. In August, the only thing I wanted to pay for was the collaboration sheet for $5.50.

Because I have not used the service and received no value from this subscription, I strongly request a full refund immediately for the charge.

Please also cancel any active paid subscription connected to my account and confirm that no further charges will be made.

I would appreciate a prompt response and refund confirmation. If this issue is not resolved quickly, I may have to dispute the charge through my payment provider.

Best regards.

Thank you.

Hey @ALTz, thanks for reaching out!

I'm not able to look into your specific account or invoice here on the forum for privacy and security reasons, but I can walk you through how billing generally works so you have some context in the meantime.

On the Professional plan, your subscription cost depends on your team's seats. You can have a Full seat, Dev seat, or Collab seat. View seats are free.

A Collab seat only gives you view and comment access in Figma Design. If someone needs to edit instead, Figma can upgrade their seat automatically, depending on your team's seat approval settings.

When that happens, two things usually show up on the invoice. You'll see a credit for the unused time on the old seat, and a prorated charge for the new seat through the end of the billing period. This often appears as a separate adjustment line item.

This kind of seat change is one of the most common reasons for a second, unexpected charge right after a renewal.

Figma's general policy is that subscription payments are non-refundable, per our Terms of Service. That said, our Customer Support team can pull up your account and invoice directly to see exactly what triggered each charge, something I'm not able to do here on the forum.

If the explanation above doesn't fully clear things up and you'd still like this looked into, I'd recommend submitting a request through our Support Hub so our team can dig into your account directly.

You might also find Manage billing on the Professional plan helpful for more detail on how seats and prorated charges work.

Hope this helps!
