NaRD

I would like to request a refund for my recent Figma subscription renewal.

I was charged today June 22, 2026 under invoice number MEBJZ98B-0004. I originally subscribed to the Collab plan, which cost $5 per month.

I had not used Figma for quite some time and do not recall upgrading to a Full Seat subscription. As a result, I was surprised to see a renewal charge of $35 + $4.20 tax ($39.20 total). I currently do not have any projects that require Figma, and I did not intend to continue or renew a higher priced subscription.

I am currently a student, and the amount charged was part of the money I had set aside for my tuition and school expenses. The renewal was unexpected, and it has created financial difficulty for me, please help me

Hey @NaRD , thanks for reaching out and for the details! Just to share some context: the higher charge is likely related to a seat upgrade from a Collab seat to a Full seat, which can be triggered when edits are made to a design file. When this happens, Figma displays an in-product prompt asking to approve the upgrade before access is granted. For more information, you can check this article: There are additional charges in my Figma bill.

I can see your support ticket and have added a follow-up note to increase visibility with the team. Your case number is #1975073 for reference. Since billing requests involve sensitive account information, our support team is best equipped to review your specific case — we're unable to handle it here on the Forum.
Please also note that under Figma's policy, payments are generally non-refundable as outlined in our Terms of Service. However the team will do their best to look into your situation! Please continue the conversation directly via your support ticket, thanks for your patience! 🙏

Update: Great news, our support team has resolved your request! 🎉

It looks like this was triggered by a self-upgrade: when you opened a design file to edit it, Figma prompted you to upgrade your seat before you could make changes. Since you were on a Collab seat, approving that prompt resulted in the charge you saw.

Thanks for your patience, and I'll go ahead and close this topic out now!
