"I encountered an issue with my AI credits while working in Figma. Before my last prompt, I had approximately 6.8k credits. I used a prompt that should have cost 80 credits, but instead, it drained 100% of my remaining balance. This is not the first time this glitch has occurred. Could you please investigate and restore my credits?"

Hi @Alan Chávez, Celyn from Figma Community Support here. Thanks for flagging this and for sharing the details.

Just to share a bit more context, Figma uses an agentic AI system, which means credit usage can vary depending on factors like the model used, the complexity of the task, and how much context is involved. More complex or multi-step prompts, or those using more advanced models, can sometimes consume more credits than expected. Credits are also consumed based on the work performed in response to a prompt, so follow-up actions or multi-step outputs can sometimes use more credits than anticipated.

That said, a full drain from ~6.8k credits for something expected to cost ~80 credits is something we’d definitely want to take a closer look at.

I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket for you so the team can review your usage logs in detail — your case number is #1852419.

When you have a moment, it would be great if you could reply directly on the ticket with:

  • A link to the affected file - please invite support-share@figma.com with “Can view” access (this won’t impact your billing and will allow us to investigate further)
  • The prompt you used
  • Whether the prompt completed or if you encountered any error, and if there were any follow-up actions or retries after that

Feel free to also include screenshots or details from any similar past instances, that can help us spot patterns.

In the meantime, for a bit more context on how credit consumption works, you can check out this article: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/33459875669015-How-AI-credits-work#consumption

Thanks again for taking the time to flag this, the team will review your usage logs closely and follow up with next steps.

Hi dear,

Actually I have an upgrade to this ticket. After we sent this ticket, my AI credits came back, which is making me curious why this happened? Could you take another look?

Hey @Alan Chávez, appreciate you taking the time to share this update - this is something we definitely want to take a closer look at.

I checked on your ticket (#1852419) and can see that a specialist is already assisting you there, and that you’ve shared this context with them as well.

They’re best positioned to investigate what might have caused the credits to return and are currently reviewing this on their end.

Please keep an eye on your inbox for their follow-up, and feel free to continue the conversation directly in that email thread so they can support you further.

Thanks again for your patience here.
