Hey Pascale D’Offay, sorry to hear you're running into issues with your library! Thanks for sharing the context, I totally get how important it is for your Design System updates to sync correctly.
If you’ve already published the new styles and components but they’re not showing in the second file, could you please try to remove the library file, then add to the file once again?
Here are the steps:
- Go to Assets Panel and click the Library icon (the book icon).
- In the Manage Libraries menu, click Remove for the affected library.
- After it’s removed, re-add the library by selecting it again and clicking Add to file.
- Close the file and open the file again.
If you're still seeing issues with the styles not updating, I’d recommend reaching out directly to the support team so they can take a closer look at your file here: Submit a bug report
When filling out the form:
- Use your Figma email account
- Include links to both the library file and the file where the issue is happening
- Grant “can edit” access to support-share@figma.com to these files (this won’t affect your billing)
This will help the team investigate and try to reproduce the issue on their end. Thank you!
Ha
I have a design system Figma file with styles and components which are shared to another file.
I created new styles and components in the Design System file and published the changes (I could see them in the list of updates).
These new styles and components are not updating in my second file.
I’ve read and tried all the community suggestions and nothing fixes the issue.
Please help! The whole purpose of shared apublished] styles is for them to sync and auto-update in all associated douments
Did you find a fix, this is also happening to me
Hey, I have the same problem as Pascale with color variables. I tried the remove-add again trick, but to no avail.
Please fix this bug because it’s creating a lot of extra effort.
