Publish Library stuck indefinitely after multiple simultaneous library publishes. No error, no loading state

Hello figma! :-)

I'm unable to publish changes to a shared library file. Clicking "Publish" in the library modal shows the "Assembling components, styles, and variables" dialog, but it never completes. No error message, no toast, no progress indicator at all.

I have Owner/can edit access to this file (confirmed in the Share dialog), so this is not a permissions issue. This was working fine for me yesterday.

Suspected trigger: The issue started after I published multiple libraries in quick succession then closed the Figma Desktop app shortly after (before confirming the publishes had fully completed because it was stuck). Since reopening, publishing this library no longer works and the action shows no loading/progress feedback of any kind, as if the click isn't registering at the server level.

A teammate with can edit access to the same file is able to publish it successfully from their own machine right now, which rules out a permissions or server-wide outage issue and points to something stuck in my local session/account state tied to this specific file.

Reproduction steps:
1. Open Manage Libraries → select the affected library → Publish
2. Select the modified variable collection, click Publish
3. "Assembling components, styles, and variables" appears and never resolves — no error, no success, no visible progress

Product: Figma Design (Desktop app)
Environment: macOS, Figma Desktop (latest version)

Troubleshooting already done:
- Checked status.figma.com → no reported incidents
- Fully quit and relaunched the Figma Desktop app
- Cleared the Figma Desktop app cache
- Ran "Repair component connections" on the file
- Confirmed via Share dialog that my access level is Owner/can edit on this file
- Confirmed a teammate with can edit access CAN publish the same library successfully from their own account/machine right now
- This same publish action worked for me yesterday, prior to publishing several libraries back-to-back and closing the app

Hey @Gabriel Marquis-Angulo, thanks for reaching out about this!

I understand how this is disrupting your workflow. Since your teammate can publish this same library right now from their machine, that does point at something stuck locally in your session for this specific file rather than a permissions or outage issue; good news is that's usually fixable.

A couple of things that will help us narrow it down:

  1. Can you try publishing this same library from figma.com in a browser (not Desktop)? This tells us if it's a Desktop-app-specific session issue or something tied to your account more broadly.
  2. Have you tried a full sign-out/sign-in (not just quit/relaunch) on Desktop? That clears local session state that a cache clear alone won't touch.
  3. Is it only this one library that's stuck, or does publishing fail the same way on other files/libraries too?

If none of those get you unstuck, please provide the library file’s URL link and give Can view access to support-share@figma.com . I can help connect you with our technical quality team, so we can take a closer look at what's happening on that specific file.

Everything is fixed now! I closed the app, went for lunch -45min ish and then It worked again.

Thanks for everything !
