Prototype performance is slow.

I have a prototype that is not excessive in size. It is not performing well for me or my client. I’ve seen this is a problem elsewhere and seems to be a Figma issue for many others.

Hey @PixelMac, thanks for reaching out!

Let’s try to narrow down what might be happening. First, a few quick questions:

  • Are you seeing any specific error messages?

  • Is this happening in the browser, the desktop app, or both?

  • Does it only affect this particular prototype, or are other prototypes also slow?

  • If possible, does the issue persist when switching networks (for example, testing on a mobile hotspot)?

A few troubleshooting steps that often help:

  • Clear browser cache, sometimes stored offline data can cause performance issues.
  • Restart the app/browser, force-quit Figma (or your browser) completely and reopen it in a fresh window.

Here’s our general troubleshooting checklist as well: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040523973-Troubleshooting-checklist

Let me know how it goes!

No error messages. Just lag. It’s happening in browser and app, for multiple users. I haven’t tried other prototypes.

Hey @PixelMac, apologies for the delayed response!

I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket on your behalf so we can take a closer look. Your ticket number is #1766753 for reference.

To help us investigate properly, could you please share the affected file with support-share@figma.com and grant “Can View” access? This will allow our team to reproduce the issue and work with Engineering if needed.

Once shared, someone from the team will follow up with you directly as soon as possible.

Thank you again for flagging this and appreciate your patience!
