Prototype keeps restarting with After Delay and Mouse Enter

Ghadeer Alhadi

Hi,

My prototype keeps restarting unexpectedly in Figma.

When using “After Delay” and “Mouse Enter”, the flow randomly jumps back to the first frame before animations finish in Present mode.

I suspect there may be conflicting interactions on the same frames or components.

What I’ve checked:

  • No intentional loops in prototype flow

  • Recreated interactions

  • Tested in a simplified file

Issue is reproducible consistently.

Video (if needed):

Could you please help confirm whether this is a bug or a configuration issue?

Thanks.

Hi, @Ghadeer Alhadi. Thanks so much for your post.

I watched your video and saw how it went back to the original frame at the end, but I’m having trouble understanding if what I’m seeing is what you are describing. I see an initial transition from the starting frame to a second frame, then it shows the original frame again with an animation of the text sliding. Is it the middle image shown that is actually the initial frame in your file that showing up in the middle of the animation? I just want to make sure I’m understanding correctly.

Could you take screenshots of the frames and interactions within the editor? I want to test what you are seeing and I want to make sure that I’m replicating your interactions correctly.

Ghadeer Alhadi

I’ve attached screenshots of the frames, interaction settings, and animation configuration so you can more clearly see how the prototype is set up on my side. I hope this helps clarify what I’m seeing during testing.

Thanks for providing those, @Ghadeer Alhadi

I actually couldn’t open them because I didn’t have permission. However, I decided to create a ticket for you with our Technical Quality team so they can take a look (#1906891). You should get an email shortly - can you reply to that with any additional information I may have missed? I included your file links as well as a general description. Thank you, and have a great day!

Ghadeer Alhadi

Thank you again for creating the ticket.

I was able to resolve the access/permission issue, so the files should now be accessible. I’m replying here with the updated access in case the Technical Quality team needs to review them directly.

I also added another frame that is experiencing the same issue so it can be included in the investigation.

Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful.
