Properties panel: input keeps focus state when selecting variable via keyboard

In the properties panel I can quick-select variables for gaps and spacing by hitting “Shift 0” (german keyboard). Unfortunately the focus stays in the selected input field and I have to use the mouse to click somewhere which usually then deselects my element – otherwise I can enter letters if I use the keyboard.

I would like to leave focus state of the inputs when I selected a variable via keyboard.
