Hello,

When I try to use presentation mode for any of my designs, I get these weird overlay squares instead of seeing my design. This happens in chrome and in the Figma app. I am on a Mac computer.

Please help!

Hi, @Mpowpow - thanks for your post!

Does this happen in all files, or just the designs in one particular file? If it is a single file, if you create a very simple frame with a few layers in it within it, does that work correctly in presentation view? I tested this with my prototype settings as an iPad 11” mini in landscape and saw this:

A screenshot of presenting a prototype.

This was the same for me in Chrome and the newest version of the mac OS desktop app.

Still happening even in new frames. Just did more testing and I found the glitch happens when I apply any blend mode (like multiply) to a fill layer. Once I remove the blend mode, then the preview works just fine. This is so weird because it wasn’t happening last week.

Ahh, thanks for the additional detail, @Mpowpow. I just added a fill layer and presented but it still showed normally to me.

What version of mac OS, Chrome, and the desktop app are you using? Here is what I have:

  • Mac OS 26.5.1
  • Chrome v149.0.7827.116
  • Figma Desktop app v126.6.9

Can you try updating everything to the newest version and see if that resolves the issue for you?

I've had the exact same problem for the past few days on pages containing layers with brightness blending. Since I removed the effect, the display issue in presentation mode has disappeared. But the strangest thing is that some of my colleagues have the same problem while others don't, even though we have the same versions, workstations, etc.

I am experiencing same issue. I  am not able to see anything in actual size mode, only full screen. Does anyone know if the will fix this issue any time soon? It is impossible to work like so.

I found the solution by accident. Create a second frame around the first one. It will be frame within frame. Now you can see it all back again.

So somehow everything magically works again and I didn’t update anything lol. Will report back if the glitch happens again.
