BORTEC TUNING

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a strange issue with one of my Figma projects.

The project itself is still there, but all of the Instagram posts/designs that I created inside it seem to have disappeared.

I can confirm that everything was still present on May 27, 2026. When I opened the project later, the posts were gone, even though the project itself still exists.

I did not intentionally delete anything, and I’m not aware of any changes that would explain this.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

  • Is there a way to check whether pages, frames, or designs were accidentally deleted?
  • Does Figma keep a history of deleted content within a project?
  • Is there any way to recover missing designs from an earlier version?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey @BORTEC TUNING, thanks for reaching out!

The good news is that version history is likely your best path here. Figma automatically saves checkpoints of your files roughly every 30 minutes, so there's a good chance a version from before May 27 is still accessible. Since you're on the Starter plan, you have access to 30 days of version history and May 27 is right at that edge, so it's worth checking now while it's still within reach.

Here's how:

  1. Open the file in question.
  2. Click the file name at the top of the editor to open the file menu.
  3. Select Show version history, this opens a timeline in the right sidebar.
  4. Scroll back to May 27 or just before, and click into a version to preview it.
  5. If your designs are there, right-click the version and select Restore this version.

Our View a file's version history article has a full walkthrough if you need it.

While you're in there, it's also worth checking that you're looking at the right page within the file. Sometimes designs can end up on a page that isn't currently in view, especially if there are multiple pages.

Hope this helps!Â
