Personal draft files disappeared / became “unassigned” after team ownership transfer

Hi everyone,

I’m using a personal Figma account. Recently, almost all of my Draft files disappeared from Drafts.
They are not in Trash and don’t show up in Search (including is:unassigned).

Some files can still be opened via direct links, but they show this message:

“This is an unassigned draft file. Ask any admin to move it into a different project.”

All of these files were created on my account.

Important context: shortly before this happened, I transferred ownership of one team to another person. That team only had a few files I don’t need. All missing files were personal drafts, not related to that team.

Questions:

  • Has anyone experienced personal drafts becoming unassigned like this?

  • Is there any way to recover or relink them without having direct links to every file?

  • Can Figma Support restore drafts by account, not by file URLs?

Any advice or similar cases would be really appreciated.
