Persistent issues with Figma Windowss App crash

Hey team,

This issue started last week. At first, it only happened when I tried to add a comment (whether typing or pasting text), and I assumed it would resolve itself. However, yesterday it also started happening when I tried to upload images, and now it’s affecting various actions randomly.

This is happening on the Windows app, and it occurs across all documents (they open fine on desktop, but the issue persists in the app).

I’ve already tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps—disabling multicursor, clearing cache, and everything the bot recommended—but nothing has worked. I also opened a support case yesterday and haven’t heard back from the Figma team yet.

This is significantly impacting my work, as I’m losing hours each day dealing with it.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions on what I could try next?

Thank you for already going through all the troubleshooting steps. I can see you’ve also reached out to support (Ticket #1833636). I’ve flagged this on our side to help get it prioritised, so someone from the team should be in touch with you soon.

In the meantime, it would really help speed up the investigation if you could reply to your support email with a bit more detail:

  • Whether this also happens in the browser, or only in the desktop app
  • Any patterns you’ve noticed (specific actions, file types/sizes, or after a certain amount of time)
  • Whether you’ve tried reinstalling the desktop app
  • A screen recording and your app/browser version, if possible
