Hey @Mari G , Thanks for flagging it! I tried to reproduce it, and it’s working on my end.
Does this only seem to happen with a specific string copied or it happens with any string you paste in the variable modes?
As a temporary solution, please try and clear out your cache in the browser and Desktop app. Then, force quit and restart Figma and check if this helps.
You can clear the desktop app cache on a Mac in the Help menu under Troubleshooting. If you'd prefer to manually clear your cache you can:
Quit the Figma desktop app
Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma"
Try opening the desktop app again
You can clear the desktop app cache on Windows under the toggle-arrow at the right of the top toolbar under Help > Troubleshooting. If you'd prefer to manually clear your cache you can:
Close the Figma desktop app
Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter: %APPDATA%\Figma
In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders if they exist
Launch the desktop app again
If you are still seeing the issue after clearing you cache, I’d recommend you to reach out directly to the support team: Submit a bug report Please use your Figma email account, mention the steps you have done and provide a link of the affected file, and invite support-share@figma.com with "can edit" permission (from the file's share settings) so the support team can look into this further. This will not count towards your billing at all. Thank you!
