When a nested component instance switches between variants with different aspect ratios, the parent component set to Hug contents does not resize to match the child’s new dimensions. The parent keeps its previous size instead of wrapping the updated aspect ratio.

Another weird behaviour / a hack-fix that kind of works:
Detaching the parent component instance temporarily fixes the issue: the parent immediately resizes to the currently selected aspect ratio. After undoing (Ctrl + Z) to restore the instance, aspect ratio swapping works correctly for a short time, but eventually the parent stops responding to aspect ratio changes again.
