Ongoing Performance Issues with Figma Desktop App Disrupting Workflow

Figma's performance over the past month has been incredibly frustrating to deal with. I'm constantly stuck waiting while the system tries to update the page — and it happens randomly, even after making the smallest changes to a file. I understand having to wait after pulling in updates from my design system, but being interrupted at random with no clear reason is really disruptive.

This happens at least 20 times a day, and each time I’m stuck waiting for 30 seconds to a full minute. It’s a major disruption to my workflow. On top of that, even when the page isn't reloading, the overall performance just feels sluggish. For example, when I update text in a component, there’s often a 2–5 second delay before the change is applied. These little delays really add up and kill my flow.

Some additional context:

• I’m using the desktop app exclusively

• My internet connection is strong and stable

• This happens every single day, across nearly all my projects

• I’ve tried restarting Figma, checking for updates, and doing the usual troubleshooting

• I actually notice better performance when working at night, which is odd

Is there anything I can do to fix this or improve the performance?
