Have you tried the following steps:

1. Open a Figma file in your web browser.
2. Click the Figma icon in the top left corner to access the menu.
3. Select “Open in desktop app.”

If this doesn't work, please check if the Figma Agent is running in the background. The Figma Agent needs to be running for your browser to detect the desktop application. -  Guide to the Figma desktop app 

If the Figma Agent isn't running, please try these troubleshooting steps:

• Check your browser settings to ensure nothing is blocking links from opening or preventing the Figma Agent from running.
• Try restarting the Figma desktop app and then reloading the Figma page in your browser.
• Close Figma in your browser, completely uninstall the desktop app, and then reinstall the most recent version from here
