Question

Need help - Page inside project got lost and I cannot recover it

Hello. Our project is currently undergoing a brand pivot and for that reason we are no longer in contact with the old UX/UI team. The design with id xO9szBDTwnwnv1pK1rgPHL used to have three pages but we currently only have 1 called Dev Space. This means we only have the flow between screens but not the Design System and illustrations that the company owns. After using the MCP we have found that the old designer deleted them back in January 2026. We have a copy of the project from March onwards so those pages have been lost to us and the designes says he cannot see them even though through Revision History we can see the history inside the folder owned by the former UI. Because we had a free plan, we cannot access the history so far back so we would like to recover a version of the project that includes the 3 pages so we can copy them into our current project so that the new designers can work on new interfaces with them.

Hello @techVaib, welcome to Figma Forum. I’m sorry to hear about the trouble — I understand how losing access to the design system could hold up your new design team.

To help work out the next step, I want to confirm:

  • Are you viewing version history in the original file owned by the former designer, or in the copy you’ve had since March? Duplicated files don’t include the original file’s version history. More on that here: Duplicate or copy files.
  • When you mention that the former designer can’t see the pages, are they blocked from opening the older versions, or can they open those versions but the pages are missing there too?
  • The Starter plan provides access to the last 30 days of history. A paid plan unlocks older history for existing files: View a file's version history. If a version containing all three pages is available, it can be duplicated into a separate file.

If those don’t help move things forward and the original file is still owned by the former designer, could you ask them to contact Customer Support through the Support Hub, using the account that created it? They can include the original file link and the approximate date when all three pages were present so our team can review what options are available. 🙏🏻
