My site is not getting indexed by Google due to missing robots.txt

I understand you're having trouble submitting your custom domain site to Google Search Console due to an error.

To cover the basics, could you please confirm that the "Exclude all webpages from search engine results" option is unchecked? Here's how to check:

1. Open your Sites file.

2. Click the [Settings] icon in the left navbar.

3. Select [General].

4. Look for the [Exclude the website from search engine results] option.

5. Make sure this box is unchecked.

You can manage this setting both site-wide and for individual pages. Once you've made this change, remember to republish your site for the changes to take effect.

I had the same problem and realized the robots.txt file needs to be manually added. I ended up creating it myself and uploading it through my hosting settings.

If you have another server or way of serving static files, you can use Cloudflare workers: Building Publicly: Figma Make sitemap.xml and robots.txt

I think it’s absurd that this platform allows me to host a site, but won’t let me add a robots.txt to the root wihtout exporting my site and paying for some new hosting platform
