Motion timeline animations not playing on prototypes for viewers who are not logged into figma

Question

When sharing my prototype with a link, opening it without being logged into figma is leading to the motion timeline animations not playing.

Some other details ;

Tried this in chrome, firefox, and edge
Smart animate components and frame transitions still play
This is suddenly effecting all files, even files from weeks and months ago that were working before and haven’t been touched since
It’s happening whether I set a password or not
It’s happening whether I use a link from

Are you able to advise me as to what might be going on here?

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Hi ​@EthanJS!It should be possible to use a link to share Prototypes with working animations with non-users if the File belongs to a Professional Team, an Education Team or an Organization, Here’s our article with more details about Sharing Prototypes Links: hereIf the File belongs to a Starter Team, only Editors or Viewers on the Team, Project or File are able to view the Prototype, and they’ll need to log in to do so which might be the cause.I hope this helps!
