Montserrat only shows Regular and Bold — can't remove or reinstall the font (Windows + macOS)

I'm having a problem with the Montserrat font in Figma. Only two weights are available — Regular and Bold — even though Montserrat ships with many more (Thin, Light, Medium, SemiBold, ExtraBold, Black, etc.). The other weights don't show up, so I can't use them in my designs.

On top of that, the font seems stuck in my system: I can't uninstall it and I can't reinstall a clean copy either.

What I've already tried (Windows 11):
- Checked C:\Windows\Fonts and the per-user fonts folder (AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts) — no Montserrat files there
- Searched the registry under Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts (both HKCU and HKLM) — no Montserrat entries found
- Checked for a Microsoft Store font package — none installed
- Deleted my downloaded Montserrat folder and restarted the PC
- In Windows font settings the font still appears, but the only option available is "Hide" — there's no Uninstall button, and it shows only 2 styles

Also happening on macOS: the same issue reproduces — Montserrat behaves the same way, so it doesn't seem specific to one machine.

Font source: Google Fonts (downloaded both the variable and static versions)

Setup:
- Figma: desktop app 126.8.18 / browser Google Chrome 152.0.7977.77]
- OS: Windows 11 [Version 10.0.26200.9168] and macOS [Tahoe 26.5.2 (25F84)]

Has anyone run into Montserrat only exposing Regular/Bold in Figma? Is this a variable-font issue, and is there a way to get the full weight range recognized? Any help appreciated.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing all these details and the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried.

Just to confirm: when you select Montserrat in Figma, are Regular and Bold the only styles listed, with all other weights missing? Is there any error message? Could you also check whether the same thing happens in a new blank Figma file?

Since this is happening across two operating systems and you’re also unable to reinstall the font, our Support team would be best equipped to investigate further. Please submit a bug report directly via the  Support Hub / Type “Report a bug, Contact an agent” / Click Start a chat / select Enter and follow the prompts.
In the form, include the URL of the file and grant "Can View" access with support-share@figma.com, the screenshots (if possible, please share screenshots of Montserrat in the font picker on both Windows and macOS), and the system details you shared above.  This allows us to reproduce the issue and investigate, thanks!
