Missing Restore option for accidentally deleted project in Education Team

Hi,

I accidentally moved my project "Видавництво Старого Лева | Лендинг спільноти" to Trash.

This is an Education Team, and I am the Team Owner with edit access.

The project is still visible in Trash and shows 2 files, but:
- there is no Restore option;
- there is no three-dot menu;
- the Files tab is empty;
- double-clicking the project does nothing.

I have already confirmed that I am the Team Owner and have edit access.

Could someone from the Figma team please check whether the project can be restored or explain why the Restore option is missing?

Thank you.

I found the direct file URL, but it now shows:

“Hmm, we couldn’t find that one. This Design file may have been deleted, moved, or made unavailable.”

The project is still visible in Trash with 2 files, but the file cannot be opened from the browser or the Figma app.

Could someone from the Figma team please check if the file still exists on the backend and whether it can be restored?

I accidentally moved it to Trash today.

Thanks for your post, @Viktoriia Koliesnikova. Looks like you’ve tried to restore this yourself before you came here. By the way, I removed the second screenshot you attached because it included your email address.

The error message I see in your first seems to indicate a permissions issue where you don’t have edit access to both the team and the project. Is there a chance that someone else does? If you are positive that you meet both requirements, then let me know and I’ll create a ticket for you with our support team. While we’re unable to directly help with account issues like this in the forum, our support team can and I can help get you in touch with them.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

This is an Education Team, and I was the owner of my project. There is no one else who manages this project.

The issue is not about edit permissions. The project was accidentally deleted, and the Restore option is missing completely.

I’m sure I had the required permissions before the deletion. Could you please create a support ticket so the team can check if the project can be restored?

Hey @Viktoriia Koliesnikova, thanks for confirming those details! I'm stepping in on behalf of @adamsmasher to help here.

Since this needs a closer look at your account and project permissions, I've created a support ticket for you, so our team can dig into this properly. Your ticket number is #2047422, for reference. You should get an email shortly, please keep an eye on your inbox (and spam folder, just in case), and reply there with any extra details they ask for.

In the meantime, here's our guide on Delete and restore projects for reference. I know the Restore option isn't showing up for you as expected, which is exactly what the team will be looking into.

Someone from our customer support team should be in touch with you soon, thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Hi! I still haven’t received any email regarding support ticket #2047422. I checked my inbox, spam, and all other folders, but there’s nothing. Could you please check if the ticket was created successfully or resend the email? Thank you!

Hey @Viktoriia Koliesnikova, thanks for your patience on this!

I've confirmed ticket #2047422 was created successfully and the confirmation email sent without any errors on our end. I'll send you the exact address it went to via DM so you can double-check it's the one you've been monitoring. Education Team accounts sometimes have more than one email associated with them, and that mismatch is a common reason a message doesn't land where expected.

If the address does match what you're checking, it's also worth reaching out to your school/institution's IT team, since institutional email systems often filter or quarantine automated messages before they even reach your inbox or spam folder.

Thanks again for your patience!
