Missing older files

Hi Figma Team, I have always been on a figma free plan ever since I created my account. I don’t hold any other personal account. However today when I logged into my account after a year, I see that all my old files are missing. I had the link of one of the file and when I tried opening it, it asked to “request access”. How is that possible when I am only one who worked on that or any other file from my account. Those files are very important for me, can you please help resolve this.

Hi @Ankita Agrawal - sorry for any trouble or confusion these inaccessible files are causing.

I understand that you only have one Figma account with a starter plan, and that you’ve noticed files are missing. You’ve also stated that you are the only one who ever would have touched the files.

However, I do still want to explore the possibility that the files you were working on were owned by someone else. The “request access” message you received indicates to me that the specific file you were trying to access may not actually be owned by you, and I want to triple check make sure that’s not the case.

Could you please share the URL of the file you were trying to access (or the name of the file) with me? I can try to see if I can find out more.

Also -- when you last used Figma, did you have a free education account?

Hi @ksn thank you for your response. I am a 100% sure that the files were owned by me and no one else ever had the ownership for those files. Here are the link and names of some files I could remember -

[redacted link]

File name: Revolut Home task

File name: Untitled

Also if I remember correctly, I was never on any education plan. I have always been on a starter plan (free plan) on Figma.

Thanks for the info @Ankita Agrawal - with what I was able to gather, it looks like this file could have been modified in the second half of 2025. I can’t be entirely sure, though.

You’ll need to reach out to our support team for assistance. Please give me a moment, and I will reach out to you via PM.

Side note: I went ahead and removed the direct link to the file you posted, just to protect it from any wandering eyes.

Thanks for the update @Ankita Agrawal -- can you confirm if you received the response that was sent to you on Monday, or if you are still having trouble?
