Chandra Sekhar

Hi Community Support Team,

I accidentally deleted a design file (Shift-carrier) during an account file transfer between my personal account and my company account. This severed the sharing links, causing the file to disappear from both accounts Trash folders.

File URL: https://www.figma.com/design/BMVmzwFb3qknbbhHKxwiHi/Shift-carrier?node-id=0-1&t=LVdHNjnxxGB3EODN-1

I have already submitted support ticket #2067644 with all ownership and transfer details. Could a community manager or moderator please help escalate this ticket to the file recovery team? This file contains critical active project work.

Thank you!

Hi @Chandra Sekhar, Celyn from the Figma Community Support team here. Thanks for reaching out!

I’m sorry you’re unable to locate your deleted file. I understand how important it is to get it back, especially since it contains active project work.

Thanks for sharing the file URL, your support ticket number, and all the additional context. I’ve located your ticket #2067644 and can see the details you’ve already provided about the file and the transfer between your personal account and company team.

I’ve gone ahead and escalated your ticket so the team can take a closer look and help with recovering the file.

In the meantime, since you’ve already checked the Trash for both teams and the file isn’t showing up in either, here are a few other things worth checking:

  • Was the entire team deleted? Files from a deleted team won’t appear in Trash. If the team was deleted within the last 28 days, you may be able to restore the team and regain access to its files.
  • Was the file inside a deleted folder? Files from a deleted folder are moved to Trash individually. If you find the file there, you can use Duplicate to drafts to create a copy.
  • Was the file permanently deleted? A file won’t appear in Trash if you or another team member or collaborator with access permanently deleted it.

You can find more details in our Delete and restore files Help Center article.

The team will follow up with you directly through your ticket once they’ve taken a closer look, so please keep an eye on your inbox.

Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

Hi @Celyn_L

Thank you so much for the quick response and for escalating ticket #2067644!

Just to clarify: the teams and parent folders were not deleted. Both workspaces are fully active, and all other files inside them are completely fine. Only this specific file (Shift-carrier) disappeared from the Trash view following the permission/ownership transfer attempt.

I will keep a close eye on my email inbox for the support team's update. Thanks again for your help!

@leonardo92 - Glad the information was helpful for you as well. Feel free to reach out if you need any further help!

@Chandra Sekhar - Thanks for clarifying that both teams and their parent folders are still active, and that this appears to be isolated to the Shift-carrier file following the permission/ownership transfer attempt.

I’ve passed these additional details along to the team on your ticket #2067644 to help with the investigation. Please keep an eye on your inbox for their follow-up.

Thanks again for your patience!
