Hi, I'm having a problem with my Figma files—I keep getting a memory error. I even created a new file to split the content up, but when I start working on it, I still get the same error, even though the file itself is empty. What's going on?

Hey @Reset Design — thanks for flagging this, and welcome to Figma Forum.

I appreciate you troubleshooting on your end, including splitting content into a new file. Since the error is following you even into an empty file, I'd like our Technical Quality team to take a closer look at where this is happening.

I've opened a ticket on your behalf with instructions on how to share access securely. Check your inbox for a message from me with your case number: 2045292 — that'll let us move forward on next steps.

In the meantime, this article may help with managing memory: Reduce memory usage in files. It also covers recovery mode, which is the state in your screenshot. One thing worth knowing: The memory limit is per browser tab, so if a large file is open in another tab, an empty file can still hit it.

Please keep us posted on how it goes.
