Question

Make an image

A recent update moved the "make an image" prompt box onto the canvas, relocating it from its previous position above the toolbar.

It's no longer possible to add frames or other images as references using the plus button that appears on hover. Additionally, a colleague of mine doesn't have the plus/attach button in the chatbox at all.

Hi @Remus_Baltariu, thanks for reaching out!

I understand how this has disrupted your workflow. The updated Make an image prompt box no longer supports the hover “+” button on canvas objects. However, you can still add a reference by copying a frame or image, then pasting it into the prompt field.

For your colleague’s missing attachment button, could you share a screenshot of their prompt box and let us know whether they’re using Figma in the browser or desktop app? Does copying and pasting a reference work for either of you?

Please let us know, and we’ll continue troubleshooting the issue together.

Hi @djv

Thanks for the reply. A note about this change would have been helpful, as many people may view it as a regression.

Here’s the screenshot. Desktop app. No, the copy and paste for reference does not work.

Thanks for the support!

Hey @Remus_Baltariu I’ll get your feedback on the change shared internally. For your teammates missing icon issue, the best next step is to have them open a support ticket. Can you have them submit a bug report through the Support Hub: Support Hub  > Type “Report a bug” > Click Start a chat > select Enter and follow the prompts. Adding a quick gif or screen recording will be very helpful. If they run into any trouble, have them post and we’ll get them taken care of. Talk soon! — Jaycee
