❗ Lost Team + Paid Subscription Attached (No Access, No Admin) — Need Help

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a serious issue with a Figma Professional subscription that I recently purchased, and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar or can advise.

🧾 Situation

  • I purchased a Professional Full seat (monthly) subscription.

  • Payment was successful, and I received an invoice confirming the subscription.

  • Right after purchase:

    • I created a design inside that team.

    • Then suddenly, the entire team disappeared from my account.

    • The design is also gone.

⚠️ Current Problem

  • I no longer see the team in my account.

  • I do not have admin/owner access (I wasn’t the owner).

  • I cannot contact any admin or member of that team.

  • Invitation links return: “Page not found”

  • I did not receive any email about deletion or removal.

  • The subscription is still active and billed to that (now missing) team.

🚫 Limitations

  • I cannot:

    • Access the team

    • Restore it

    • Transfer the subscription

  • Figma support bot indicates:

    • Subscriptions are tied to teams

    • Only admins can transfer teams

    • Subscription cannot be moved independently

🎯 What I Need

Ideally, I want to:

  1. Move the paid subscription to another team, OR

  2. Cancel/refund and reassign properly

❓ Questions

  • Has anyone experienced a team disappearing like this?

  • Is there any way to recover a team without admin access?

  • Can Figma manually reassign a subscription in such cases?

  • Could this be a backend/account sync issue?

This feels like a dead-end situation where:

  • I paid for a subscription

  • But it’s attached to a team I cannot access or recover

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I'm not able to access account-specific details from this public space, but I checked in with our Product Support team and they're actively reviewing your case. Your ticket number is: 1831297, and they'll follow up at the email tied to your Figma account.

While the team investigates on their end, a couple of things worth checking in the meantime:

  1. Account check: Is there any chance the team was created while signed into a different account? If you've ever used another email with Figma, try signing in with it to see if the team appears there: Switch between accounts. 
  2. Invitation link error: You mentioned invitation links are returning "Page not found" — this could indicate the team was deleted or that your access was removed. Either way, this is something Product Support will be able to confirm once they're in the account.

I know you've already explored a lot of this on your own. The Product Support team will be able to get to the specifics, including whether the subscription can be moved or refunded. Please keep an eye on your inbox for their follow-up.
