Lost Team + Paid Subscription Attached - Need Help

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a serious issue with a Figma Professional subscription that I purchased, and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar or can advise.

Situation

  • I purchased a Figma Professional Full Seat (monthly) subscription on 16 July 2025.
  • The payment was successful, and I received invoices confirming the subscription.
  • The subscription is currently active and paid through 16 July 2026.
  • I am the owner of the account.
  • Over the past year, I created multiple design files inside this team and now the entire team disappeared from my account.
  • The design is also gone.
  • Not showing paid subscription plan

What Happened

Today, when I opened Figma, I noticed that my account had been automatically logged out.

After logging back in:

  • The entire team had disappeared from my account.
  • All design files that were stored in that team were missing.
  • My paid Professional subscription was no longer visible.
  • I did not receive any email regarding team deletion, ownership transfer, account changes, or subscription issues.
  • As the account owner, I did not delete the team or make any changes to the workspace.

Current Problem

It appears that:

  • The team is gone.
  • The files are gone.
  • The paid subscription is not showing.
  • I still have invoices and proof of payment for the active subscription.

Limitations

  • I cannot:
    • Access the team
    • Restore it
  • Figma support bot indicates:
    • Subscriptions are tied to teams
    • Only admins can transfer teams
    • Subscription cannot be moved independently

What I Need
Ideally, I want to:

  1. Get the subscription active again and my files back

 Questions

  • Has anyone experienced a team disappearing like this?
  • Could this be a backend/account sync issue?
  • Is there any way to recover the missing team and files?
  • Has Figma Support been able to restore teams or workspaces in similar cases?

This feels like a dead-end situation where:

  • I paid for a subscription
  • But it’s attached to a team I cannot access or recover

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Hi @Apoorva ChavanCelyn from Figma Community Support here.

Thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed information, and I'm sorry you're running into this.

I was able to locate your support ticket #1973890 and can see that you've already shared the invoice details, subscription information, and the name of the missing team - appreciate that!

Given that the team, files, and associated subscription are no longer appearing as expected, this is something that will require the Support team to investigate directly. I've gone ahead and added your forum post to the ticket for additional visibility.

The team will follow up with you through your ticket as soon as they have more information to share, so please keep an eye on your inbox for updates.

We appreciate your patience while the team takes a closer look into this for you 🙏

Hi @Celyn_L ,

Thank you for the update.

I understand that the issue is being investigated, but this is quite urgent from my side. The team that disappeared contains over a year of work, and at the moment I have completely lost access to both the files and the Professional subscription that is still active on my account.

Could you please provide an estimated timeline for when I can expect an update from the Support team? Even a rough timeframe would be helpful, as this is currently blocking access to important project files.

I'm concerned because the team, files, and subscription visibility all disappeared at the same time immediately after I was unexpectedly logged out of Figma.

I would appreciate any information you can share regarding the investigation timeline and whether the team and files are likely recoverable.

Thank you.

Hi @Apoorva Chavan, thanks for following up, and I completely understand the urgency given that this team contains over a year of work and is currently preventing access to both your files and subscription.

I've gone ahead and escalated your ticket internally and highlighted the impact and urgency of the situation to the team.

While I'm unable to guarantee an exact timeline, the team will do their best to get back to you within the next 24–48 hours with an update. I've made sure the team is aware that this is a high-priority issue for you.

Thank you for your patience in the meanwhile, someone from the team will reach out with next steps as soon as possible 🙏

Hi @Celyn_L

Thank you for escalating the ticket and for providing a timeframe.

I understand that the investigation is still ongoing, but could you please let me know whether this appears to be a recoverable issue based on what you've seen so far?

My main concern is the loss of the team, all associated files, and the active subscription. Since the team disappeared unexpectedly and I did not delete it or transfer ownership, I'm hoping there is a way for the Support team to restore access.

I understand you may not be able to provide a definitive answer yet, but any reassurance on whether similar cases have been successfully resolved would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @Apoorva Chavan , Celine from the Community Support team here, working closely with @Celyn_L! 👋

I took a look in the backend and can see the support agent has already replied to your ticket with an update. Please check your inbox when you get a chance!

Just to share a bit of context: the team noticed that the email address listed as the owner of the paid subscription appears to contain a typo, which may explain why you're having trouble signing in. The subscription may have been created under an incorrect email address.

Please continue the conversation directly via your support ticket as the team is best equipped to investigate further and help restore access.Thank you!
