Hi, I’ve lost an important file and I can no longer find it on my account at all.

Can I get some help on this? I can't see it in my Deleted or Drafts folder either.

Hello @Thaina — welcome to Figma Forum, and sorry you’re having trouble locating your file. Thanks for already checking your Deleted and Drafts folders.

To help narrow this down a bit further, could you try the following and let us know if any of these turn it up?

  • If you opened the file recently, try searching for the file link in your browser history.
  • Double-check that you’re signed into the Figma account that should have access to this file. You can switch accounts by following these steps: Switch between accounts.
  • If you haven’t already, try switching between teams in the file browser to see if the file appears there: Guide to the file browser → Your sidebar.
  • It’s also worth checking with any collaborators who previously had access to the file to see if they’re still able to open it and share access with you.

In addition, I’ve gone ahead and opened a ticket on your behalf with our Product Support team so they can take a closer look at the specifics (we’re not able to access account details here in the forum). Your case number is: 1722881, and they’ll reach out as soon as they’ve had a chance to review.

Please keep an eye on the email address associated with your Figma account for next steps, and let us know here how it goes. 🙏🏻

The only person who had access to the file was me.
It's not in any projects, drafts, or trash. It disappeared.

It was a file where I kept my portfolio. I need to recover this file. It's been more than 6 months since I last touched the file. It vanished.

Hey @Thaina — thanks for confirming that info. I know how stressful it is when an important file seems to disappear. Our Product Support team is actively reviewing your case, and I’ve shared your update with them so they have the full context. They’ll reach out to you directly as soon as they’ve completed their review and can share next steps.

Thanks so much for your patience while we look into this with you — we’ll be back in touch as soon as we have more to share.
