Hey @Gautam.K, thanks for flagging this!

A bit of context on how Figma Make's credit consumption works: credits are charged based on the work the model performs in response to your prompt. So if Make attempted to generate anything at all, credits would still be deducted. The one exception is a full failure where no work is performed, in that case, credits aren't charged. The How AI credits work article has more detail if it's helpful.

To help me understand what happened, did anything appear in the Make preview at all, or was it completely blank after the prompt ran?

That'll help figure out the right next step. Either way, if you'd like our team to look into your specific usage, the best path is to contact support, they can review what was consumed and when in detail.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions.

Hey @Gayani_S
Thanks for telling me how Figma Make credits consumption works. I know that already.. Been using Figma for like past 4 years. That was a full Failure of the Prompt as it doesnt show any chnage in the recent file and showing me the old version. Gave the prompt to create some new page In platform user..as it deducted my credits and shows no change in any way. So i will call it a total Failure of Prompt.

This is the reason, I raised this concern as you can see in the Screenshot below.

Hey @Gautam.K,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot, that adds some useful detail. It shows Version 29 was created, with four files showing real edits (platform-users-design.md, communication-center-design, support-center-design, and live-chat-design all changed), plus a banner showing your team's Education plan hit its credit limit until Jul 1. That's a bit different from "no change in any way," so I want to make sure I'm reading this right: is this the same version you're saying looks unchanged, or are you comparing against something else?

For the credit question itself, that's going to need someone who can pull the actual consumption log for this specific prompt; that's not something visible from the forum side. The best way to get that started is through the Support Hub, share the file and prompt details there so the team can review exactly what happened.

In the meantime, since your team's credits won't reset until Jul 1, a couple of things that might help:

  1. Restore an earlier version of the file from version history if you'd rather work from a clean state.

  2. Copy the current Make preview into a Figma Design file and keep building there without using more credits.

Hope this helps!
