Hi Figma Team,

I need urgent help with two files that I have apparently lost all edit privileges on, although I created them from scratch. I now get the “This is an unassigned draft file - Ask any admin to move it into a different project.” message.

I really don’t know what I could’ve done wrong, and I can’t find any indication that this was created in a different project or team. If so, how could I even tell or know who to contact? as far as I know I’m the admin on these files.

Please help me out! these are very time sensitive.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Guido, thanks for reaching out!

Typically, users will see a yellow banner with “This is an unassigned draft file - Ask any admin to move it into a different project.” when the file was originally in the drafts of another user or team that has recently been removed. When this happens, drafts are automatically assigned to the Unassigned Drafts folder, and the files can only be managed by an Admin.

Normally, we’re not able to assist with file management here on the forum, but are you able to provide links to the unassigned files? We can take a look at the backend and try to advise.

Hi @dvaliao ! sure, here are the files:

Let me know if you can see them!

Unfortunately I don’t see any Unassigned Drafts folder on my end...

Thanks, @Guido

I took a look at the files on the back end, and while you are the creator of both files, they are currently with the team: components, which is owned by a Fred W. Does that name sound familiar? If so, you’ll want to reach out to them to move these files over to you.

Hi @dvaliao !

Yes that clarifies what has gone wrong. I think I accidentally created that file inside a Work Team that I recently removed myself from. Thanks a lot for your help.
