When trying to open a Figma file, which is my portfolio, I'm getting a message:

You can’t access this resource
Contact the owner, an admin, or support for assistance.

Can you help me gain access back to my file?

Thanks for the details! I can see in the backend that our team is already working with you directly to find a solution, as your file appears to be located in a different team that you currently don’t have access to.

I recommend continuing the conversation with them, as they’re best equipped to resolve this specific case.

I’ll go ahead and close this topic for now since you’re already connected with our team through this case.

I was the owner of the file and have been working on it recently

Hey Mark, Céline from Figma here. Thanks for flagging this, happy to help!

I can see on my end that you’ve already been in touch with our support team, and I’ve gone ahead and escalated your case internally so they can take a closer look.

In the meantime, here are a few things worth checking (these are the most common reasons why you might not be able to access a file you created):

  • The file may have been deleted: check your Trash files section to see if it’s there. To restore a file

    • From the file browser, click Trash and locate the file you want to restore.

    • Right-click on the file and select Restore.

You can find more information in our guide: Delete and restore files

  • Double-check your login: make sure you’re signed in to the same Figma account that originally had access to the file.

Hope this helps in the meantime, and thanks for your patience. Our team will be in touch with you soon!

Hi @Celine_

Thanks for your reply.

Checked my Trash and its not in there.

I’m definitely logged into the account which had access. I’d been working in the file only a few days before.

Hopefully we can find a resolution.
