I have users that I have previously added, but can no longer remove them or change their access. I can also no longer edit a project for which I am the owner.

Hey @Stuart Hickson, thanks for reaching out!

On the Starter plan, the most common reason an owner suddenly loses the ability to edit or manage members is that the team has become locked. This happens when the team's files exceed the Starter plan limits, 3 Figma Design files, 3 FigJam files, and 3 Figma Slides files per project. When that limit is hit, everyone on the team loses edit access, including the owner.

A locked team usually shows a lock icon next to the team name in the file browser.

A few quick things to check:

  1. Check your file count, head to your project in the file browser and count the files by type. If you're over the limit in any category, that's likely the cause.
  2. Check your seat type, in Figma, your seat type and your permissions work separately. If your account was changed to a view-only seat, that can restrict editing even if your ownership role didn't change. You can check this from your account settings.
  3. Look for any error message, when you try to remove a member or make changes, does anything appear on screen? An error or greyed-out option can help pinpoint what's going on.

If the team is locked due to file limits, the fix is to move or delete files until you're back under the limit. After that, edit access should restore automatically.

If none of that fits what you're seeing, could you share what happens when you try to take action? That'll help me narrow it down from here.
