Hello, we need to have a contents page and be able to navigate through the slides when in PDF format. When I export to PDF these internal links are broken, making this completely unusable for us as a tool for building slides. I see this was reported by others awhile ago, is there a timeline for this fix?
Hi
I understand you're trying to add internal links within a Slide page, but the links don’t work as expected when exported to PDF.
I did some testing on my end and observed the following:
-
In Slides mode, you can link to other slide pages using the Link section in the right sidebar.
-
When switching to Design mode, I noticed that it actually adds a URL starting with
https://www.figma.com/slides/
to the selected text. -
After exporting the file to PDF, the link remains the same — it stays as an external URL rather than functioning as an internal link within the PDF.
If you're seeing the same behavior, this is currently expected. That said, I understand how much more useful it would be for your workflow if these links worked as internal navigation in the exported PDF.
I saw a similar feature request here in the forum as you mentioned, and our team is already aware of this.
While we can't guarantee if or when this will be updated, I’ve gone ahead and created an internal report based on your post to help bring more attention to this request.
Thanks again for your feedback!
